BBC Monitoring - Summary of World Broadcasts
The UvA Library recently acquired a subscription to the BBC Monitoring Summary of World Broadcasts, from 1939 to 1958. Created at the outset of World War Two, BBC Monitoring aimed to rapidly gather and interpret international news. The database includes a summary of World Broadcasts transcripts of original radio and television broadcasts, translated into English and summarised. Besides the database, the UvA Library also has a subscription to different BBC journals, including reports on countries. I have also included a few interesting books recently published on the BBC.
