History library collection June-August

The library in the PC Hoofthuis building is now closed, and the one in the Singel building will follow at the end of June. As a result, the printed history collections from these locations will be unavailable until September 1st.
With the start of the new academic year, all materials will be accessible again — this time at the new library building on Vendelstraat But how can you access specific printed books in the meantime?

Are you looking for...

... A specific book in the English language?

  • Check if it is available on the Internet Archive. If it is, you can create a free account and borrow the scanned version of the book.
  • If it’s not available there, try Google Books.
  • If you still cannot find it, use the library’s contact form to ask whether the book can be purchased as an e-book to the history collection or, if not, borrowed via interlibrary loan.

... A specific book in Dutch or another non-English language?

... Pick-up locations and study spaces?

  • For pick-up locations to get the printed book, you can choose library locations such as Roeterseiland (REC) or Science Park. Study spaces are also available at these locations.

Of course, you can always send me an email if you have any questions concerning the collection.

A few weeks ago, I took some photographs at the new library on Vendelstraat. The photos include the building exterior, the door to the new Bronnenkamer, the checkout area where you can pick up reserved books, and one of the library rooms (study spaces will be included). The new library will be open starting September 1st.
