Leaving the University of Amsterdam?

Congratulations. You have earned your degree by successfully completing your studies at the UvA. Or perhaps you are a UvA staff member about to retire or set on a new adventure elsewhere. Can you still use the UvA library services?  Of course, you can.  What will change for you and what not?

In the table below you will see the library services that are still available without costs when you leave the UvA.

Alumni students and staff
Fill in this form if you would like to have access to:
  • database Academic Search Alumni (3000 peer-reviewed journals in all disciplines),
  • database Business Source Alumni (750 peer-reviewed journals within the Economic/Business field),
  • your RefWorks account and data.
At the Central Library location, there is a PC with access to all UvA database subscriptions. Home access to them is, however, no longer available.

👉TIP
Take a subscription at the Koninklijke Bibliotheek (KB). It will give you online access to their database subscriptions, including home access to many humanities resources. See this overview of their database subscriptions

Retirement
All library services continue without personal costs. In order to access them you will need to fill in this web form.

In short: services without costs

* You can either take a yearly library subscription at the UvA or become a member of the UvA Alumni Association and get the library membership for free.
**All alumni can have free access to two databases: Academic Search Alumni (3000 peer-reviewed journals in all disciplines) and Business Source Alumni (750 peer-reviewed journals within the Economic/Business field).
