Fine forgiveness weeks and automatically renewal

Last summer our Library switched to a new library system. Because of this transition, there will be a number of changes from the 13th of November.

Your loans will automatically be renewed
A newly borrowed book with a loan period of 28 days will automatically be renewed up to three times, unless somebody else reserved it. If you still need a specific book after three automatic renewals, you will have to first return it to a library service desk and then borrow it again.

Automatic renewals do not apply to books with loan periods shorter than 28 days. You must renew these books yourself.

Fine Forgiveness Weeks (30th of October – 12th of November)
From the 13th of November the Library will start sending reminders and charge fines again for overdue books.

  • Do you have books at home with fines (€50 or less)?*
Return them to our library service desks (not at the self-service machines) during our Fine Forgiveness Weeks. Your fines will be waived. For fines over €50? Please, contact the library via this specific email address.
  • Have you returned all your books, but still see an outstanding fine?
Please, contact the library via this specific email address.
  • Do you not have a fine, but do still have books at home with an expired due date?
No worries! From the 13th of November you will first receive a reminder to return your loans. Only with the second reminder a fine is charged.

An overview of outstanding fines can be found in your account in:
